currently tossing the idea of doing a hemi swap instead of buying a 440 crate engine. Just seems more cost effective. a little about the truck and parts i have, it is a w200 so its 3/4 ton 4x4 with a 205 transfer case a dana 60 rear and still trying to figure out what front axle i have. i have a new 727 automatic transmission and torque converter.
Now the question that comes to mind is how much and intense are the fabrications of installing a hemi with or without a transmission included? Should i be looking at ditching the transfer case for a 4x4 transmission? how hard is the electrical part of the swap? mostly concerned about the throttle, ignition, steering column shifter and other misc. stuff like gauges and O2 sensors. any info is greatly appreciated!
The Gen 3 uses the same transmission bolt pattern as a small block Mopar. If you had a small block in your truck, you would bolt the hemi in to the original transmission and fab up motor mounts.
