I just picked up a salvage donor for my swap and immediately ran into a major issue. The donor is a 2005 Grand Cherokee 5.7L. The PO had a small fire at the PCM and now the PCM and all 4 harnesses coming out of it are burnt up and useless. Luckily, the engine wasn’t damaged before the fire was put out. My original plan had been to use the donor PCM and harness with a DIY Hemi quick harness to swap the engine and 545RFE into my 1989 Wrangler. Now I need to figure out the most cost effective way to replace the harness and PCM. The Grand Cherokee PCMs and harnesses are going for pretty big money at junk yards around here. However, the Ram units still very cheap. Will a 2005 Ram harness and PCM work on a Grand Cherokee engine and trans? Would it just make more sense at this point to get a full standalone harness from HotWire Auto or even a Holley Terminator unit? Would love any input on the best way to move forward from here and thanks!

Welcome to the Hemi Swap Community! We want this to be an open forum where anyone can ask anything about the Hemi engine and doing Hemi Swaps. We find the information can be scattered all over the internet and want this to be a centralized place where we can talk amongst each other and share our questions and answers that may be able to help others going through similar Hemi swap situations. Please be kind to others and help out where you can while getting the information you need. Blake and Mike will be admins and answering questions here as well!
