Currently swapping a 2007 (1500 truck donor) 5.7 and 545rfe into an older full size Jeep (88 grand wagoneer to be exact). But I can't figure out if there is a way to input a speed signal into the PCM (I'm hoping to have cruise control and the other options functioning) I know the factory dodge sends the signal over the computer data link from the ABS computer but I would like to not have to mess with an abs computer if possible.
I installed a np242 t-case with an output speed sensor and it'll have a Dakota Digital gauge cluster and speedometer signal converter. So I will be able to convert the pulses per mile (or km up here) from the t-case, to whatever it needs, but I can't find on any of the wiring diagrams if there is a place to input a speed signal on the PCM.
The closest I can maybe find is input speed signal 1 & 2 on the totally integrated power module (c5 and c6 connectors), if those are indeed vehicle speed inputs. Then it would have to be broadcast of the can bus to the pcm.
My biggest questions are:
-is there any way to input vehicle speed signals directly to the PCM without using other factory modules?
-if there isn't, would the totally integrated module inputs work?
-is there any way to input the speed signal?
I appreciate any insite and help. The Google searches are returning mixed, vague answers
