Hello I watched your video on SKIM Disable and it was very informative. Thank you! The part of the video where you had to disable the "Start over CAN" setting is interesting. However, it opened up a question regarding an earlier video of yours regarding using a later model GPEC pcm as a standalone and having to use a "Start Signal Replicator" module to get it to start. I posted it in the youtube comments but you probably have not seen it. My question is this: Do I still need this Start Signal Replicator if I disable the "start over CAN" setting in HPTuners?
DIYHEMI did repy to my message on youtube and told me that the start replicator is still needed. They tried to get around it but it didn;t work. They still needed that signal.
It is sold by Hemituner Performance. It is not listed on their site. You need to contact AJ there and request it. HEMITUNER.COM (hemitunerperformance.com)
It plugs into the canbus network on the car or truck, and, as the name implies, replicates a canbus signal which tells the PCM it is safe to start. Without that signal, on the canbus network, it will not start. If you had the ability, and a car to read the canbus, you could read the canbus and isolate that particular message in the network and build your own replicator using an arduino board or something.
I have ran into the same issue. they mention a replicator yet i cant find one. someone point me to a guy that has them but no info on it. $250ish for the replicator but no info on what it is, specs or how it works.
seems to me that if you need it, they would sell the product here on the site like the rest of the diy stuff, or have a link to more info on it.
