Good Afternoon everyone, as the title states I'll be swapping a truck 6.4L hemi into my Crown victoria some time in the near future. I searched high and low one the internet trying to find someone who could remove SKIM on the GPEC2 ECM with no luck. With that, I decided to I convert my GPEC2a harness to a stand alone and make it work with a 2009-12 NGC ECM to control the 6.4L. I'll be intergrating the other wires needed to complete this into my cars stock wiring system, fuel pump relay , starter relay etc etc. I actually finished up an excel spreadsheet the other day pretty much explaning how to do this and don't mind sharing (you would have to figure out how to power it and such on your own of course).
I need to give a shoutout to DIYhemi on really being the only place online that is willing to share infromation on how to swap these engines into anything, and would like to do the same by sharing and swapping infromation with others that want to do this on their own in the future.
Now to the techincal stuff, on the NGC ecm there are three pinouts that have me a little confused and would like to know if these would be needed for the route I am taking. C3 (White connector) pin 14 (brake signal 2), pin 23 brake signal 1 and Pin 21 ( Park/Nutural signal). My goal is to throw a 4l80e trans behind the 6.4L with an aftermarket controller controlling the 4l80e. Are the 3 pinouts needed for anything if one is using non auto transmission with their swap?
Question #2, the 2013 and up ecm have a ground input for your engine fan relay and on the 09-12 ecm this signal seems to be sent out by the TIPM (i can only assume its a can-bus thing), how exactly are you guys activating your fans without the TIPM. Question #3, Can bus (-) and (+), if I remember correctly, makes a stop at the TIPM before it goes to the OB2 connector on the 09-12 model vehicle , can I just send these wires directly from the ecm to the OBD2?
Thanks for any help in advance
