HEMI SWAP
COMMUNITY
Welcome to the Hemi Swap Community! We want this to be an open forum where anyone can ask anything about the Hemi engine and doing Hemi Swaps. We find the information can be scattered all over the internet and want this to be a centralized place where we can talk amongst each other and share our questions and answers that may be able to help others going through similar Hemi swap situations. Please be kind to others and help out where you can while getting the information you need. Blake and Mike will be admins and answering questions here as well!

Also, take a look at the mopar performance crate engine instructions to help understand what I explained. This may help you understand your options depending on the route you take.

I built a 69 Roadrunner using the mopar engine harness, dakota digital dash, and the factory b body wiring. This consisted of integrating the fuel, fan, and ignition to the mopar engine harness while still using the factory b body dash harness to communicate all the lights, parking brake, steering column signals, wipers, etc. The dakota digital interface did complicate things a bit. I had to run signals to their computer to talk to the instrument cluster. I also added a OBD connector so the mopar harness would talk to the dakota digital system. Some of this was a guess on what info I would be able to see from the mopar harness to the dakota digital instrument cluster, but I was able to pick up inlet air temp and oil pressure. My speedometer signal is ran directly from the original 833 manual to the dakota digital computer using a pulse generator from dakota.
I believe your computer will have to be unlocked. DIYHEMI may be able to perform this for you, if not, HP Tuners can support. After that you will be able to make tuning adjustments. Hope this helps a bit.
